Oh yeah, it's a tough balancing act between being able to be self aware enough that you acknowledge how silly some things are and standing up for yourself and others are unfairly putting you down. Like if a normie says "ew, furries are gross", a nice comeback would be "I know, being one myself because can't stand how gross I am, ugh how can I LIVE with myself!" or "Really? You speak so confidently as if you know furries are gross, and the only ones that know furries are gross are furries so...", something that is silly and shows that the comment does not bother you. But if someone says "Furries are a bunch sick criminal psychopaths that need to die and would love to kill some of them" THAT'S when you raise your voice and defend yourself because at that point it has become less about commenting on furry and more about committing a crime. That's when you report and show you don't tolerate violence against anyone. Just that I see people agreeing to those kinda statements thinking they are being witty or low-key agreeing with it.

People often fall into the trap that changing the world is a doable thing and failing at it is meaningless. Sometimes we can change the world and be the best by doing things our world, our society, our communities, our friends and family.

The only fursuiting I have done in my life has been as The Beast from "Beauty and the Beast" and it has so far been beyond satisfying. Of course I am NOT being my own character I am portraying another copyrighted character, but just the fact people are attracted to it like a magnet makes the whole thing satisfying. I have received some of the best and more wholesome interactions as The Beast. It's also my "bridge" fursuit as I can wear it at Disney conventions, comic conventions, anime conventions and furry conventions and he'd fit right in because it both looks great and it's a legacy character that people love.

@Karpour I can see what you mean by how both Twitter and Telegram can limit what you want to share and how to do it. No social media run by man will ever be perfect but LJ did have it's charm where it's community was tighter, fandoms could have great interactions and your presence was felt. My beef with Twitter it's not just how messages can get lost to the algorithm but how people can and will deliver a hot take no one asked for or accuse you of being ignorant if you want to discuss something else other than the hot topic of the moment.

I wanna say that the concept of a forum evolved into discord groups and telegram chats. Back in the day forums were something that were kinda hard to access and create due to its complex nature. Now with Discord and Telegram you can easily create group, establish some base rules and create a community. Honestly that's why so many people have left Twitter to focus on streaming, Discord and Telegram because you can control your audience and even yourself whereas Twitter is a free-for-all in that once you make a statement EVERYONE has to be involved and deliver an opinion many didn't even ask for.

LiveJournal did have its problematic elements and at times it dwelled too much in glamourizing depression and suicide (hence why many would call LiveJournal the site for emo Hot Topic goths). But for the most part everything you wrote and posted existed within its own bubble and again till the boom of MySpace, your thoughts and musings were hidden behind an username that made it hard to target you. They still could but not to the insane extremes Twitter would offer. It was ironically a place where you could be part of any fandom and have discussions and be more engaging.
